CPRB Records To Be Destroyed

The Citizens Police Review Board has 8 years of oral tapes documenting its monthly meetings. The City Manager plans to have these all erased, except for the last year so that the tapes can be "reused" in spite of new space-saving storage methods and the clear historical value of these audio tapes.

Despite audience enthusiasm and excellent reviews in the New York Times, Village Voice and Variety, "Gaza Strip" has been turned down by HBO, POV & NOW w/Bill Moyers & Frontline & Wide Angle (all PBS), and the Sundance Channel. Europe is broadcasting it. Why can't this film be shown in the United States?

Andrew Johnson of Santa Cruz, one of the demonstrators, said he was struck on the arm three times by an officer without provocation.
“It was totally unnecessary,” he said. “We weren’t doing anything.”
