How would these kids be any less able to express themselves if US forces weren't in Iraq right now? I doubt military recruiters would be having such a difficult time if there was only war in Afghanistan; I don't blame anyone for protesting in order to keep suckers from getting shipped off to Iraq.

You are making it so hard for liberals to win any sort of political office and even harder for us to be heard in policy discussions. Please stop these immature and unproductive moves.

War kills - the military is being so cowardly by trying to recruit relatively inexperienced (and sometimes uneducated) people who don't know the danger of war. The last thing we need is recruiters harassing students to join their war for Iraqi oil. On top of that, protesters have the right to be p.o'ed, the Iraqi civillian death count is over 17,000 now!

As a vet myself. i have mixed feelings about this skirmish...however, i think the ultimate travesty is the fact that the GoP and Bush Co. haven't made themselves accessable to everyday people. Hence, the civilian population takes its aggression on the most logical option, those who "carry out" the president's and GoP's policies of an illigitmate war.

Today Wednesday April 6 a little known private school in upstate NY called RIT had a career fair. The ARMY was recuriting, but I am quite certain no one stopped at their booth :(. The 3-letter agencies were there with videos of smart missiles blowing stuff up, they collected lots of resumes :)

Look, this is not a complex issue, really.

Any employer/group that discriminates on the basis of race/sex/gender/preference/etc is supposed to be denied access to campus job fairs, etc.

Federal law calls for schools to provide the military the same access as any other employer.

But the university is NOT providing the "same" access, they're providing "special" access. The rules are actually being violated in a special exemption for the military.

If the rules were applied evenly, then the military would be denied access just like any other discriminatory employer.

Sure, but if they find OUT that your sexual preference is out of line with their dogma, then you get tossed (dishonorably, too).

haha I would love to see how this country would react if the military would up and stop like you want it to. I would love to see your scared crying little faces as other nations turn the United States into another Iraq. As a veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq, I can legitimately say "you have no idea what you're talking about"
