Wouldn’t it be great if we Santa Cruzans ruled the world? Not only would war, hate and nukes be forever eradicated from the planet, but meat, marijuana prohibition, conventional farming, corporate greed and synthetic fabrics would also disappear. Someday ... perhaps.

Treesitter Falls at Ramsey 2 THP

An Earth First! activist treesitter at the Ramsey 2 Timber Harvest Plan (THP) fell from a tree this evening while protecting trees in southern Santa Cruz county. The young man, whose name is being witheld, was flown to Stanford Medical Center in a Lifeflight helicopter.

A group of homeless people are considering forming a survival camping collective somewhere in Santa Cruz. City Council Candidate Mike Rotkin has long supported the Sleeping Ban and the Camping Ban despite a desparate lack of shelter preferring to spend city funds to criminalize homeless people. CUE Parade through downtown! Meet at 2:45pm at the Kinko's parking lot. The parade will step off at 3pm. The theme is a funeral march in honor of the "Death of Fair Labor Practices" -- People will have their faces painted
white with black Xs over their eyes and they will be wearing red CUE shirts. This should be a lot of fun and students are more than invited to be a part of it!
