On July 8, there was a West Coast Anti-Capitalist Mobilization Against the Group of Eight (G8) held in the Mission District of San Francisco. The demonstration in SF was in solidarity with the mobilization against the G8 summit taking place in Scotland.

On July 6, the "Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba" bus was parked on Cedar St. Amigos de Cuba (Friends of Cuba), Santa Cruz County, USA spoke with many people about the "Cuban Five" and the US embargo on Cuba.
