At least seven local activists have been subpoenaed in the last week to appear before a federal grand jury convened in SF. In recent decades, the federal government has increasingly used the grand jury to intimidate and harass activists pushing for social justice.

As of May 17th, 139 mayors have signed onto the agreement.

Yvon Neptune remains the Prime Minister of Haiti. He was kidnapped during the military coup last February. The last news of his condition was that he could no longer stand. He has survived beatings, illlness, and finally a hunger strike - so far.
