Laura Flynn was a personal assistant to Haitian President Aristide from '96-2000. Flynn is now with the Haiti Action Committee, a network of activists who have supported the Haitian struggle for democracy since 1991. She's editor of Eyes of the Heart: Seeking a Path for the Poor in the Age of Globalization, by Aristide..... We spoke 3/3/04 afew days after the coup. While much has happened since then, this interview discusses much of the history up to the present moment....

This week, US forces used Apache gunships to attack targets in Baghdad for the first time since the fall of Saddam Hussein a year ago. On Wed., Marines shot a hellfire rocket and dropped a 500-pound, laser-guided bomb on a mosque in Fallujah were more than 40 are believed killed.
