Essentially, Washington has three choices, all of which are unattractive to the power elite: end the US occupation of Iraq, withdraw US troops from Europe and East Asia to deploy them in the Middle East and Central Asia, or resort to conscription.

Since many of those commenting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict use the terms "Palestine" and "Palestinian people" and even "Israel-occupied Palestinian territories" I think it is high time to educate readers on the background of this term. The information in this article will undoubtedly surprise some readers who have this view that in 1948 Zionist colonists invaded "Palestine" and displaced the indigenous people there.
