Wow, imagine that. A news reporter covering the news. The headline is from Nov. 2001, and the story that week was "Palestinians Sue Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for Genocide." We learn that the plaintiffs are survivors or families of victims of the hundreds of Palestinians massacred in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon in 1982. *They* accuse Sharon of responsibility in massacres. No, Amy diid'nt "accuse Israel of genocide," her guests did. That's the job of a good reporter, to give voice to those WE ALMOST NEVER HEAR FROM. In the story linked to by BJ, Amy Goodman interviews, Chibli Mallat, one of the lawyers representing the Palestinians suing Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for genocide, and Wadha Sabeq, survivor of the massacre who lost fifteen members of her family. I know how to use google, too. I searched Google News, for both of Goodman's guests on that show, to see what other news outlets used them as a source. Guess what? Google News returned ZERO hits.... Thank you to Amy, and The DN! Crew, for constantly giving voice to these folks we'd never hear from otherwise. Please keep it up!
