BECKY: The point about Sharia, or Islamic law, is that the status of women is reduced to that of cloistered women, unable to have ANYTHING going on in their lives their husbands (or sometimes their sons) don't approve of. This is not some theoretical point, in order to win an argument, but the crushing reality for 60 million Muslim women.

You ridicule the Jews for belief in God, but when the Palistinian Authority passes their constitution in 2003 which declares that Sharia or Islamic law will the law of the land in the new State of Palestine (should it ever come into being) that doesn't even raise a bump on your radar screen. You use the word "evil" which is a religious concept and infer I said that Arabs are evil which I have never said and do not believe.

I have not said one way or another yet what I would advise my congressional leaders to do about funding in Arab countries. Some of that is undoubtedly humanitarian aid. When I have done enough research so I feel I can give an informed opinion, I will be happy to do so. Do not assume that simply because I have not "joined you" to call for cutting this funding means I am totally in favor of it. Its not a black-white situation.

Steve, you really have lost it.
