I see a real dilemma arising out of this discussion: how to keep fascism at bay.

It's a two-edged sword: how do you combat fascism without resorting to the censorship, repression, war etc. the fascists themselves use?

Yep, there's no shortage of armed, militant "true believers" out there, of various stripes: we now find ourselves embroiled in conflict between those who besmirch the good names of Christianity and al-Islam. Well, then, if one doesn't want either the recruiting tables of those who smear the good name of Democracy, or Hazb 'Ullah, al-Qaeda etc., exactly where and how do we draw the line today, so that we don't end up hanging by the end of it tomorrow?
