No, the only thing they protect are what Parenti calls the "fifth freedom" the right to pillage, rob, rape and decimate foriegn lands and peoples of their resources and labor. The US military are nothing but hired guns of the rich, they protect no freedoms in this country. All the freedom's we have in the US were gained through hard fought struggles of the multitude of workers, and the "under-classes." The precious few freedom's left are quickly being stripped away by legislation such as the Patriot Act, and other short-sighted laws...

And FUCK you nationalism. People across the world are starting to unite, not about borders, but about justice and survival.
