BTW I was listening to a tape a friend had made of the interview with Sam Farr the other day.

Something that stuck out in my mind was Farr's response to a caller who expressed concern about the bill related to the reimplementation of the draft (read the sc.indy feature here):

His response was that the legislation would never pass and one of the reasons was that this was an election year.

The interviewer did not question him at all along the lines of... but if the legislation is written then what happens after the election year is over.

I've often had bad reactions to KUSP and the fact that they carry NPR and other programs like it during the commute hours (as well as throughout the day). When I've written to them complaining about specific shows or the fact that NPR is misleading in general I've gotten written answers but the answers were always in defense of their programming such as 'NPR is better than most alternatives'.

I belive that KUSP spends in the neighborhood of $100,000 to buy the right to air these programs.
