FSRN: Felton Voters Support Local Water Control

Multinational corporations are buying up water rights worldwide. About five percent of the global water supply is controlled by private companies. This privatization raises fears, and in some places, like Bolivia, water privatization has caused deadly conflict. A three year struggle over control of the Felton, CA waterworks, entered a new phase last night with passage of Measure W, an 11 million dollar bond to buy-back the local system. IRAQ: Acid attacks on "immodest" women on the rise

Men are throwing acid on women for not wearing veils or abayas since they believe women wearing western clothes is "forbidden by god."
Despite the attacks, many women are refusing to bow to the will of religious extremists.
