After the town hall meeting, I asked a few people whether or not they were satisfied with how Sam Farr responded to their concerns. While some folks feel Sam Farr does represent their concerns in congress, many feel that Farr is disingenuous, at best. While they appreciate his position on the coming war in Iraq, alot of people are angry with his past votes on things like NAFTA, GATT, Plan Colombia, the 1999 bombing in Yugoslavia, and his recent vote to increase the military budget. “We wanted to create an event with a diverse array of speakers who were creating peace within their communities,” she told the Register-Pajaronian. “The group felt that Sam Farr doesn’t fit those qualifications,” and voted unanimously to not invite him to the rally.”

“I’ve been taking part in such marches in Santa Cruz since 1969 and this one is incredibly large,” Rotkin said.” I can tell you that this is the largest crowd I have even seen in front of the county building.”

While needed schools are being shut down Sam Farr voted for over 400 billion dollars to be put to the US war budget. This is unacceptable.

I literally bumped into Congressman Sam Farr on the steps of the county building at the SC peace rally on 2/15. I couldn't let the opportunity go w/o asking a feww important questions rarely posed by mainstream reporters. Listen to your "peacenik" congressional representative.
