Emma, a Play by Howard Zinn, at the Monterey Bay World Theater
11 Nov 2004

by
CSUMB World Theater presents
Emma Goldman... an activist for Free Speech, Anarchism, Women’s Rights, Draft Resistance, Worker’s Rights, and Free Love.
Come share the experiences of early 1900's Anarchists struggling for a people's revolution, risking everything against the suppression of the state and the ruling class in a society where dissent was deemed criminal (seems like times haven't changed that much).
Participate in the re-telling of stories written out of high school history books and fight for people's histories to be heard.
The play will be presented on November 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 at the Monterey Bay World Theater in Seaside.

A hand-painted banner posted above two ATMs posed the question, "How Much Does the Chancellor Make an Hour?"

Workers, Students and Community Members Rally and Bargin for AFSCME at UCSC

AFSCME stands for American, Federal, State, County and Municipal Employees. Local 3299 AFSCME members are employed by the UC to serve food; clean bathrooms, dorms, labs, offices, and hospitals; drive shuttle buses, and park cars. The rally effectively demonstrated that AFSCME workers, UC students and members of the Santa Cruz community, including 3rd District County Supervisor Mardi Wormhoudt and newly elected Santa Cruz City Council member Tony Madrigal, are committed to improving the working conditions for service workers in the UC system.

Protest at UCSC, Stop the Bombing of Fallujah
On November 9, a small group of people gathered at the base of the UCSC campus to protest the bombing of Fallujah.
