400 copies of Fault Lines, the Newspaper of the SF Bay Area Independent Media Center, have been delivered to Santa Cruz. More than 125 copies have been distributed at various locations in downtown Santa Cruz, and many more will go out in the coming days.

Santa Cruz Radio Access Movement (SCRAM) is acting autonomously and in support of Free Radio Santa Cruz (FRSC).
SCRAM was created to liberate the airwaves for the people of Santa Cruz. Our first action has been the liberation of 101.1 FM for Santa Cruz and neighboring communities. SCRAM is broadcasting Free Radio Santa Cruz's web stream 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
SCRAM encourages other people to take action! Free the airwaves by broadcasting alternative media sources such as Free Radio Santa Cruz. If you can't hear SCRAM where you live, then start a Radio Access Movement in your community.

Practical Activism: Tools for Local and Global Change at UCSC Oct. 30

Come to a day long conference at UCSC dedicated to exploring tools for local and global change. The day includes workshops, speakers, tabling by community and campus organizations, food, student art, and spoken word performances.
Registration begins at 10 AM, workshops are held from 11:45 to 3:00, and tabling continues until 5:00. Everyone is welcome and the entire day is free.

Demonstration for Worker Justice Nov. 10
On Wednesday, November 10th at 12 pm, representatives of AFSCME, the union that represents low-wage service workers at UC Santa Cruz will be bargaining for a fair contract in the Bay Tree Bookstore on the UCSC campus. Workers, students and community members will be demonstrating in the Quarry Plaza outside the bookstore in solidarity with the workers and their demand for a just contract.
