Chiquita's Trail of Death and Corruption in Colombia

Chiquita Brands has a history of corruption in small ports like Turbo, Colombia. With the rise of Bush crony and Medellin cartel boss Alvaro Uribe Velez, they now act with complete impunity. Here are two typical vignetttes: one of corruption and another of terrorism.

A State of Emergency: Tent University Santa Cruz

From April 18th-22nd, hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and community members will gather and camp at the base of the UC Santa Cruz campus and construct a tent encampment, thus uniting UC Santa Cruz with its greater municipal
