Any day now, the California State Supreme Court will be deciding whether Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco overstepped his authority by ordering
marriage licenses to be issued to same-sex couples; the court may also decide whether the more than 4,000 same-sex marriages performed in San Francisco are valid.
On the day that the court releases its decision, we will meet at 6:00 pm at the Town Clock in downtown Santa Cruz, to celebrate with or to comfort one another; if you were married in San Francisco, please bring a copy of your marriage license; otherwise, please bring a sign.
