In celebration of Keep Space for Peace Week, the Santa Cruz branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom hosts a town meeting on the militarization and privatization of space.

Rahul is a long-time campus and community activist, at the local and national level and serves on the Administrative Committee of United for Peace and Justice. He is publisher of the blog Empire Notes, which has daily updated analysis and reporting on U.S. foreign policy and the state of the American Empire.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, California. On September 11th and 12th The Campaign for Sensible Transportation will be holding a two day, fundraising book sale, benefiting the No on Measure J- "Widening 1 Won't Work" campaign.

No on Measure J is opposed to Meaure J, the highway widening sales tax initiative. The initiative will be on the ballot in November. If passed it will raise the county's sales tax primarily to widen Highway One from Santa Cruz to Watsonville.
